Isaiah 41:13
"For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."

Mary first experienced the mission field as a child when her family took a missions trip together to Haiti. She remembers how desperately poor the children were and how most adults only made $1 a day, if that. Children would beg to be their tour guides and as one girl in our group accidentally dropped an ice cream cone on the ground, Mary watched with amazement as a dozen children piled on one another to get a taste. A taste of what we wouldn't think twice of throwing away back home.

At fourteen, Mary took her first trip with Teen Missions to the country of Egypt. It turned out to be the most incredible summer of her life. A Christian only six months, she hated Boot Camp for the first week (as do many that come), but as she learned more about God and his strength to pull her through it and as she and her team worked together, especially to get everyone over the wall during the Obstacle Course, she came to appreciate all she learned and experienced. Egypt was incredible. The customs were so different and respect for the culture was necessary so as to not put the team, each team member and the reputation of Teen Missions at risk. To walk in the steps of Jesus in Israel was an experience of a lifetime. Teen Missions gave her that and she has had a tremendous love for the organization ever since.

Mary's background is a mix between hospitality and technology. She received her undergrad in Business and Economics from Wheaton College in Chicago. Billy Graham, an alumnus of Wheaton, gave the commencement address at her graduation. She remembers thinking at the time that his life was something she aspired to—a life full of meaning and purpose and real joy. After receiving a master’s certificate in hotel and restaurant management she worked in hotels and inns across the US before making a career change into technology. She spent the last ten years in Seattle working for Microsoft and Expedia.com. She is extremely excited to join staff with Teen Missions and to use whatever gifts or talents she has been given for the sake of the kingdom of God.

Mary will be located in Athens, Georgia where she will serve as an area representative for the East Coast working on recruiting, promotions and public relations. She has a Shetland sheepdog named Webster and teaches a preteen Sunday school class as well as a women's Bible study in her home.
